Cheltenham based defence consultancy CDS Defence & Security (CDS DS) has announced the appointment of Dan Sambell as their new Information Systems Lead.

Dan joined the company in 2011, working in a newly formed scanning department converting archive data into digital publications as well as providing a digital mailroom service for Middlesex County Council. Dan quickly progressed into the Technical Publications department, achieving numerous industry recognised qualifications along the way. Dan has been an integral part of the Technical Publications department, working alongside a number of end customer delivery teams such as Lockheed Martin, Babcock and BAE Systems.

In more recent years, Dan has worked on deliverables for some of the UK’s major military programmes such as Warrior, Ajax and the RMMV SV Fleet. His new position will see him become the company lead for Information Systems, a new area of the Support Engineering division looking at not only traditional technical publications practices, but also new and emerging technologies which are set to drive the sector over the coming years.

Mark Willis, Head of Support Engineering, said of the appointment

“Dan is an incredible asset to CDS DS. His time spent working offsite and with other departments has given him a wealth of experience. Not only is he an expert in the subject of technical publications, but from working alongside our Safety, Environmental and ILS teams, he understands the importance of integrating these areas to create a more holistic approach to Support Engineering. We are incredibly lucky to have such an exceptional pool of resource within the company to promote from. This allows us to provide real career development which in turn attracts the very best talent in the market.”
