CDS win ideasUK – Corporate Social Responsibility Award
Last week, ideasUK held their 31st International conference and awards ceremony in Stratford-upon-Avon. ideasUK works with organisations throughout the UK and worldwide to promote and support innovation and ideas throughout industry.
CDS, in conjunction with the MOD, were one of the four nominees for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award which recognises the best idea that benefits the wider community outside of the business. CDS’ nomination was for the e-learning project it produced in collaboration with the Defence Medical Services, for Op GRITROCK in response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
A presentation was given on the first day of the conference by CDS’ CTO, Mike Collier, to showcase the success of operation GRITROCK to the wider community outside of the business.
Following this presentation and some consideration from the judging panel, CDS was delighted to be announced as the winner of the IdeasUK 2017 award for Corporate Social Responsibility. The judging panel was impressed by the innovative, online training solution created in an extremely short timeframe which provided procedural training for care workers in West Africa. At the peak of the Ebola epidemic, 600 lives were lost each day, and this project was instrumental in the reversal of this figure and the effective countering of the Ebola threat.
Andy Worsley, pictured, accepted the award on behalf of CDS DS and the trophy was presented by Nouf Alfalasi from the Dubai Department of Economic Development which kindly sponsored the award.
