CDS Defence Support Managers undergo ILM3 Qualification.
CDS Defence Support are committed to the ongoing development of their Leaders and Managers and as such they have paired with Leeds Beckett University to deliver an ILM Qualification to Managers throughout all areas of the business.
Last week saw 9 Managers across both CDS Defence Support, CDS Leeds, Aylesbury, Belfast and the Research and Innovation Centre in Bristol take part in the second ILM3 course that has been delivered within The Baird Group.
The group took part in multiple team building tasks, which developed their understanding of different leadership methods. They also listened to David Bunting MBE talk as a guest speaker about the expedition that he planned and lead to climb the Western Ridge of Everest – something that has only been done a handful of times in history.
The course also consisted of some classroom work, researching into differing Management styles, how to deal with conflict and identifying resolutions to issues in the workplace.
This week long course will be finished up with the group completing a presentation to senior Director level Management identifying the main benefits of this qualification to the company and allowing the group a chance to present ideas gained from the course that will help develop and improve CDS in the future.
The Baird Group CEO, Fergus Bailie, also personally attended the first day of the event to give a presentation on the importance that the Group places on these courses as well as outlining the vision that the Baird Group has for development going forward, something that was highly beneficial for all.
