CDS Defence Support attends Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards

Yesterday, CDS Defence Support was delighted to attend Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s annual Awards at Imjin Barracks, Gloucestershire. At these awards, CDS DS was presented with the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award certificate by Dame Janet Trotter DBE, the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire.

This award recognises the support, over and above the ‘norm’, that CDS DS gives to employees that are part of the Armed forces community, as Reservists, Veterans or Cadet Force Members. CDS DS has committed to and been commended for this dedication to providing a working environment that is both flexible and supportive and counts this as one of its biggest, non “sales” achievements to date.

CDS Defence Support’s Managing Director, Richard Bradley, received the award and was accompanied by Commander David Bucknell RNR and Charlotte Robinson, a CDS Employee and Cadet Force Volunteer.

The award ceremony also saw the investiture of HM Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets for the coming year, an event that CDS DS was privileged to witness.  These exceptional young people embody all that is best in their organisations and are all making a positive impact in the local community.

CDS DS plans, over the next year, to build on this award by increasing its support to the Armed Forces community even further by developing its HR policies to encompass the additional training

requirements that may be necessary as well as directly targeting the recruitment of service leavers. The ongoing development and pride that CDS DS take in the Armed Forces presence in the company, whether that be Reservists, Veterans or Cadet Force Volunteers, will hopefully lead to a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in 2018.

Richard Bradley CDS DS MD said “I was extremely proud to receive this award on behalf of the company. I believe it recognises our commitment to the ‘Whole Force Approach’ and our belief that the UK’s defence aspirations can only be met by a cohesive blend of Full Time and Reserve Forces supported by the expertise and experience available from organisations such as ours in the Defence industry”.
