Presentation marks the end of the U23 Army Rugby Season

Last week, Lt Col Mike Atkinson and Major Nigel Hinton, representing the U23 Army Academy Rugby Management Team visited CDS Defence Support to present a framed shirt and photo of the 2017 U23 team to the Managing Director of CDS DS, Richard Bradley.

The presentation was made by way of thanks to the company for its ongoing support to Army Academy Rugby. Lt Col Atkinson and Major Hinton both enjoyed visiting the CDS DS offices and posing for a photo in front of our Ferret Armoured Vehicle which takes pride of place in the reception of our Cheltenham office.

This presentation marks the end of a successful rugby season for the team who ended the inter services competition with an undefeated record. The framed shirt will be displayed in pride of place in the CDS DS offices as the sponsorship of the U23 team is something that CDS DS is exceptionally proud of.

The Army Academy seeks to use the game of Rugby to help develop the leadership skills that are essential for the future of the British Army. CDS DS shares this commitment to investing in the young people who will help to shape the UK’s Defence Sector and looks forward to continuing its support to the team next year.

The season will start again in the Autumn of 2018 and CDS DS is already looking forward to attending the matches with the 2018 Team. If last year was any indication, the 2018 season could be the U23 Army Team’s year to take the inter services trophy.
