CDS Defence Support becomes The Affiliated Lead Sponsor of U23 Army Academy Rugby
CDS Defence Support is delighted to confirm that, after a long lasting relationship with the team and lead coaches, it has become the Affiliated Lead Sponsor for the U23 Army Rugby Team.
CDS DS has been a proud supporter of the U23s for many years. The relationship reflects the company’s focus on promoting youth employment and its belief in the value of apprenticeship. The U23 Army Rugby Union (ARU) says in its mission statement that it wants “To develop young soldiers and officers to be rugby players capable of performing at the very highest level they can achieve in order to secure the cultural legacy of the Army Rugby Union.”
The Army also recognises that U23 Rugby has the capacity to support the Army’s wider aim of seeking to ‘Develop Future Leaders’.
Richard Bradley, CDS DS’ Managing Director said, “We take great pride in our involvement in helping to develop the talent of tomorrow and we are delighted to support Army Rugby generally and Army U23 Rugby in particular.”
This year is an exciting year for the team as it sees, amongst others, a former Welsh U18 International player join the squad. The Rugby Season for the team commenced with trials, held on 2 – 3rd September 2017 at Brunswick Camp followed closely by the selection of the final Team in October, prior to the Inter Services U23 Championship in November.
CDS Defence Support look forward to being present at many of the fixtures this season and further cementing the relationship between the ARU and the company. Watch this space for future news!
