Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications

Study the key design aspects of modern wireless and radio engineering, cellular networks and advanced wireless technologies.

You do not need to be a graduate to attend and attain the certificate on this course.

Your previous training, knowledge and work experience in a technical role within your military service or civilian role is recognised through the ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL) board as meeting the requirements to attend our Post Graduate Certificate.

Those who have served for a minimum of three years, whether this is within the military or within a civilian organisation in a communication role are eligible to attend.

Available modules

The course consists of three tutor led modules, each of one week duration.

You must attend all three modules and after completion you will be required to write three assignments of on a topic covered during each module. A list of titles will be available to choose from. You will then have six months to complete these assignments.

Qualification

Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications, recognised by industry.

Armed Forces

We deliver our Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications to Armed Forces communicators and ICT specialists as part of their Continuous Professional Development. We are an ELCAS approved centre CDS Support Ltd learner number 12217 and you may use your accumulated ELCAS credits to pay towards the cost of the course. The PGCert is equal to 60 UCAS points and is part of a Master’s programme.

  • British Army Regiments, The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. We are authorised to deliver CPD to Signallers, Communicators and ICT operatives within all regiments in the British Army and the Royal Navy and RAF who have completed a minimum of 3 years’ service.
  • Royal Corps of Signals and Royal Logistics Corps

Royal Logistic Corps (RLC)

We are a preferred supplier to deliver programmes for the Royal Logistic Corps throughout the year. You are required to contact the Communications Specialist Head of Trade based at Normandy Barracks, Leconfield to register your interest. When you have been approved to attend the course, you will need to apply for your ELCAS funding and bring your CAN with you when you commence the course.

Royal Corps of Signals

When you have confirmed dates and permission to attend from your Chain of Command and Ubi-Tech, please get in touch. Your place on the course will be confirmed when we have received your ELCAS Claim Authorisation Note (CAN).

Course Details and Itinerary

The programme is fifteen days in duration followed by a six-month period during which you will write three assignments  based on the classroom studies. We provide you with a list of assignment titles to choose from. We will review your assignments and provide effective and constructive feedback before we submit them for marking. The whole process from attending the classroom to full graduation can take a minimum of 12 months.

Pre-Requisites

You must have served a minimum of three years since completing your Class 3 or equivalent to attend our Post Graduate Certificate.

Venues

We regularly deliver courses at military bases throughout the UK, sovereign bases and in our Head Office, Cheltenham. To deliver the course on a military base we need a minimum of five students.

Cost

Payment instalments can be considered to spread the cost of your personal contribution over a period if you wish.
