Military Satellite Communications
A Tier 1 Defence company took ownership of the supportability for a military satellite communication capability that included ground stations, maritime equipment and land-based systems.
Challenge
A Tier 1 Defence company took ownership of the supportability for a military satellite communication capability that included ground stations, maritime equipment and land-based systems. Upon taking ownership there was no provision of a Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) or support modelling data, with tight deadlines to prove to the Authority they could keep it available.
Action
Our team rapidly deployed to start analysing data to populate the LSAR. The data has included 90,000+ LCN records, 1500+ Maintenance Tasks and 4000+ spares. The team then sourced reliability figures to populate missing fields and validated all data. The team also automated the population with queries to speed up the process.
The team has supported the customer with undertaking modelling and analysis through sanitising the data and providing the data through a structure created by the team to enable the software to run.
Value Added
Building the LSAR has prevented the capability from becoming unavailable, preventing significant fines. Through automation and provided support to the modelling and analysis, it has provided the customer evidence to present to the Authority in short notice - proving they can support the capability through-life in Supportability Case Reports and IPS Plans.
