Challenge
Sustaining a 24hr, 365-day operational critical capability, including the associated activities to keep it available, safe, and usable; all of which to be are carried out on live systems with no margin for error in an environmentally challenging international location.
Action
We have been a part of the operation since 2000. Currently we have a team of 55 permanently based in an international location supported with reach back expertise from the other Business Units based in the UK. The abroad team conduct a variety of functions including equipment operation, analysis, maintenance, and technical support. The team also play a crucial role in programme management for equipment lifecycles, upgrades, and facility / infrastructure changes (including disposal).
Utilising reach back expertise to provide the capability’s safety case, DSAT compliant training, technical publications, and robust cyber security.
Value Added
For the past 25 years the team has kept and continues to keep the capability continuously running, 24hrs a day for all 365 days a year – even through significant disruption of facility and infrastructure upgrades. The team are essential to the mission.
