Our commitment to social values came to life recently when our Training, Learning & Delivery (TLD) team traded the office for the outdoors, spending a full day volunteering at The Farm Animal Sanctuary in Evesham.

The sanctuary provides a safe haven for rescued, neglected and abandoned farm animals, and relies heavily on volunteers and donations to continue its incredible work. Our team was proud to play a small part in supporting their mission.

Throughout the day, the team rolled up their sleeves to tackle a wide range of activities, from mucking out stables and feeding animals to building new pens, painting decorations for the charity’s Christmas grotto, and even perfecting the art of “pumpkin lobbing” for the goats! It was a day filled with teamwork, laughter, and purpose.

“Many of us work predominantly from home, so it was a welcome escape from our usual routines, enabling us to connect with each other, the animals, and nature. It was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.”

“Mucking out pigs – no problem.
Herding sheep – no problem.
Mucking out 50 ducks and geese – problem!
But it was muddy, solid work, and everyone got stuck in.”

Karl Manning

“It was a humbling experience to be part of something so meaningful. Knowing that the work we did directly helped the sanctuary and its residents was incredibly fulfilling – real food for the soul.”

Dan Riches

“The hosts were incredibly welcoming and took the time to share the animals’ stories. We were delighted to donate art materials for their creative activities — it was heartwarming and inspiring.”

The volunteering day not only supported a vital community charity, but also offered our team valuable time away from their screens to reconnect, collaborate, and reflect on the importance of giving back.

At CDS DS, we believe in living our values, not just talking about them. Supporting initiatives like The Farm Animal Sanctuary is one of the many ways we contribute to our communities and promote wellbeing within our teams.
